Privacy policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
This page explains what information Porchlight collects through this website, why we collect it, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow Canada's privacy law for businesses (PIPEDA). If anything here is unclear, email [email protected].
What we collect
When you fill in the contact form. Your name, your email, and, if you choose to add them, your website and a message. We use this to reply to you and to set up the call you asked for. Nothing else.
When you book a call. Booking happens on Calendly. We pass along the name and email you gave us so you don't have to type them twice. Calendly then collects what it needs to schedule the call, under its own privacy policy.
When you browse the site. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit, roughly where they're visiting from, and what device they use. It sets cookies in your browser to do this. We look at totals, not individuals, and we don't use it for advertising. You can block it with your browser's privacy settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
When you email us. We keep the email so we can reply and follow up.
The discovery tool. Your answers stay in your browser. We don't receive or store them.
Who else handles your information
We use a few service providers to run this site. Each only gets what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase stores contact form submissions.
- Calendly schedules calls.
- Google Analytics measures site visits.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
- OpenStreetMap supplies the map images on the PopBy demo, so your browser asks its servers for them.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.
We never sell your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be on one.
How long we keep it
We keep your contact details and messages while we're talking with you or working together, and for a reasonable time after in case you come back to us. Ask us to delete them at any time and we will, unless we have to keep something for legal or tax reasons.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- show you what information we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete it
Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Client projects
When we build something for a client, any personal information inside their systems (their customer lists, for example) is handled under our agreement with that client, not this policy.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
